Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry to officially launch Heads Together campaign

When the video featuring the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry introducing their Heads Together campaign was released a few weeks ago, it took over social media and the world. The next leg of this journey to end the stigmatization of mental health forever is fast approaching.

Next Monday at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with Prince Harry will launch their Heads Together campaign to eliminate stigmas associated with mental health. They will attend the launch of this campaign, which is to date, the largest project the royal trio has undertaken together.

Working in partnership with seven charities, the goal of this campaign is to change the conversation surrounding mental wellbeing. This event at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will give the royals an opportunity to discuss their personal interests in launching this campaign and what they hope Heads Together will achieve longterm.

Campaigners, beneficiaries and ambassadors from these mental health charities will be joining Their Royal Highnesses for the event. They will lend their combined decades of experience and expertise to this cause. The Royal trio will be able to see firsthand the innovative approaches these charities will utilise to create this national conversation on mental health. The Heads Together campaign will build upon the work already being done across the United Kingdom surrounding mental health.

Overall, the hope for the campaign is “To ensure that people feel comfortable with their everyday mental wellbeing, feel able to support their friends and families through difficult times, and that stigma no longer prevents people getting help they need” – Kensington Palace said in a press release.

Their Royal Highnesses are both pleased and privileged to be working with these amazing partner charities who have accomplished so much by tackling stigma surrounding mental health, creating awareness and providing assistance to those with mental health challenges. These charities are: Best Beginnings, CALM – The Campaign Against Living Miserably, Contact (a military mental health coalition), Mind, Place2Be, The Mix, and YoungMinds.

Heads Together was also named the 2017 Virgin London Marathon Charity of the Year. Next year, thousands of runners will take to the streets of London, utilising this positive platform to create fund raising and awareness to banish the stigmatization of mental health forever.
