Princess Beatrice becomes patron of ‘Fashion for the Brave’

It has been announced that HRH Princess Beatrice will be the Royal patron of the 2013 Fashion for the Brave event.

Princess Beatrice

Fashion for the Brave is a high-profile fashion event held to raise funds for the Household Cavalry Foundation and Soldiering On, organisations which provide aid to servicemen injured while on operations. The event is held once every year, and is organised by Hilary Alexander, OBE.

Ms. Alexander, a British journalist, said about the event “Fashion for the Brave is the absolute apogee of British fashion all in one place, at one time, on one dazzling evening in aid of the Household Cavalry Foundation and Soldiering On; the 2013 show is going to be sensational.”

The evening will include a drinks reception and three course dinner, followed by a grand auction, a fashion show and the Military Wives’ Choir. As with every year, the pinnacle of the finale will feature a dress designed by a top fashion designer.

This Charity Fashion Gala will be held on Friday, the 8th of November, at The Dorchester, 53 Park Lane. Places at the event will be available in tables of 10, with each table starting at £3,500, and individual tickets being released closer to the day. The Princess will be a guest of honour at this black tie event.

In addition to Fashion for the Brave, Princess Beatrice is a patron of the York Musical Society, the York Theater Royal, the Sick Kids Friends Foundation, Forget Me Mot Children’s Hospice and Broomwood African Education Foundation. She is also Ambassador to Teenage Cancer Trust and Patron of the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre.

The princess’ decision to take on a new patronage has fuelled the speculation of her desire to become a full-time working royal. Only time will tell if that is true.
