Storm Callum causes havoc at Princess Eugenie’s wedding as hats fly down the streets of Windsor

Storm Callum is causing havoc in Windsor this morning as hats and fascinators fly all over the place ahead of Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.

Royal reporter Richard Palmer reports on Twitter: “Strong winds are playing havoc with hats in the crowd and among the guests who have started to arrive. Cheers for one man running up the hill after his wife’s hat.”

Storm Callum is bringing 70mph winds  to parts of the UK with disruption already felt as more than 1,000 homes and businesses are without power.

Windsor should escape the worst of the weather, however, there could be heavy downpours of rain.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Becky Mitchell, Met Office weather forecaster, said: “They’re just on the edge of where we’re expecting rain to be. There’s a chance of heavy bursts around 11am.”

She added: “Hopefully they’ll see some sunshine this afternoon.

“Hopefully the rain will happen when they’re inside.”
