Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank to be shown on ITV

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are set to marry on Friday, October 12 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, but there had been no news of anyone willing to broadcast the ceremony. Prince Andrew’s aides had reportedly approached the BBC about broadcasting his daughter’s wedding, but they turned it down fearing there would not be enough interest in the wedding.

ITV’s This Morning had now stepped in to broadcast the big day live from Windsor. This Morning at the Royal Wedding will be hosted by Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes. The three-hour long show will begin at 10 in the morning with the arrival of the guests. Princess Eugenie’s sister Princess Beatrice will be the chief bridesmaid on the day.

The couple were engaged in Nicaragua while on holiday at the beginning of 2018. Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank met at the Swiss resort of Verbier where Eugenie was on a family vacation celebrating her father’s 50th birthday. Mr Brooksbank is now manager of Mahiki, a nightclub in Mayfair but before that, he worked at Chelsea’s Admiral Codrington pub, then the Markham Inn. In a past interview with the Daily Mail, he said that his future dream is to open a line of pubs.

Following in the footsteps of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Eugenie and Jack have invited 1,200 people from across the United Kingdom to the grounds of Windsor Castle to share the experience of their special day.

A palace spokesperson said: “The attendees will view the arrival of the congregation and Members of the Royal Family, listen to a live broadcast of the Marriage Service and watch as the Bride and Groom depart St George’s Chapel at the end of the ceremony.”

Once the service has ended, the newly married couple will undertake a short carriage procession through part of Windsor High Street.

The carriage will process through the grounds of Windsor Castle, departing via Castle Hill to proceed along part of the High Street before returning to the Castle via Cambridge Gate.
