Princess Eugenie to marry in the same chapel as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will marry at St George’s Chapel in Windsor – the same location as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May.

This morning Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr Jack Brooksbank.

“Her Royal Highness and Mr Brooksbank became engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month.

“The wedding will take place in the Autumn of 2018 at George’s Chapel in Windsor with further details announced in due course.”

St George’s Chapel has been the choice of venue for quite a few royal weddings.

The first royal wedding held there was between Princess Alexandra of Denmark and the future King Edward VII in 1863.

The most recent royal wedding was that of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999. In 2008, it was also the site of the wedding of Peter Philips, the son of the Princess Royal, and Autumn Kelly.

St George’s Chapel seats around 800 people, Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie’s wedding days will by no means be small occasions.
