Princess Eugenie ‘set to marry’ long term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank, according to reports

Princess Eugenie is set to marry her long-term boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, in 2017 according to a report in the Sunday Express.

The 26-year-old Princess has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for nearly six years now, having met during a skiing holiday in Switzerland.

However, a spokesperson for Sarah, Duchess of York has contradicted the claims saying there are ‘no plans’ for the couple to get married next year.

She is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and they are said to be “overjoyed” by the news.

According to the Sunday Express’ Royal Correspondent, Camilla Tominey, the couple are planning to get engaged by the end of the year.

Princess Eugenie will move into Kensington Palace with Mr Brooksbank after their marriage.

Her move to Kensington Palace will reignite the question over whether she will begin to carry out engagements on behalf of her grandmother The Queen as a full-time working royal, as her activities are not listed in the Court Circular.

The Princess of York’s boyfriend is the son of an accountant, and was educated at £10,000-a-term school in Buckinghamshire.

He has had a variety of jobs, including restaurant waiting. The couple have spent a lot of time apart from each other as Princess Eugenie worked in the USA.

The news comes just after the news emerged that her sister, Princess Beatrice, had split up with her partner of ten years, Dave Clark.

Until the birth of Prince George, Eugenie was sixth in line to the throne, meaning that she had to gain approval from The Queen to accept a marriage proposal because of the Succession to the Crown Act.
