At the end of January, the Duke of York announced the engagement of his daughter, Princess Eugenie to Mr Jack Brooksbank after a relationship of seven years. The couple has decided to thank well-wishers who sent them messages of congratulations with a personal message.
People who have sent the newly engaged couple a card to congratulate them on their upcoming wedding will be receiving a very special reply. The card sent from Buckingham Palace shows one of the official engagement pictures of Princess Eugenie and Jack. In the image, the couple can be seen gazing into each other’s eyes. The reply is rather big (A5-format) in comparison to the card Prince Harry & Meghan Markle sent out to well-wishers after their engagement announcement last year.

Instead of the usually typed message, the couple decided to use a handwritten note. If I’m not mistaken, it is the handwriting of Princess Eugenie. The message concludes with both the signatures of Princess Eugenie and Jack. It reads in full:
“We are so grateful for your lovely message congratulating us on our engagement.
“We are so happy and excited and look forward to 2018 being a very special year for us.
“Thank you for thinking of us.
“Eugenie & Jack”

Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank will marry on the 12th of October at St George’s Chapel in Windsor; this is the same venue Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose for their May wedding. The wedding of Eugenie and Jack is expected to be a private family affair and smaller than the wedding of her cousin Prince Harry.
The couple has been together for seven years before becoming engaged while on holiday in Nicaragua at the beginning of 2018. The pair didn’t need permission from Her Majesty The Queen to get married as the rule applies only to the first six in line to the throne. Princess Eugenie currently sits in eighth place, but she will be bumped down a spot upon the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child in April.
