Out of all the outfits that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have worn over the years, none stick out quite as much as the ensembles they put together for the wedding of Prince William to the then Kate Middleton back in 2011.
Even if you weren’t a fan of the Royal Family, you would have had to live under a rock to miss the ongoing jokes about the sister’s dress choices. To this day they still get teased, with many wondering if we were going to have a repeat at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding a few months back- and no, we did not!

In a new interview with Vogue, the sisters open up about an array of topics including being modern working princesses and Eugenie’s upcoming wedding. They also touched on the infamous outfits, revealing that they cried over the backlash.
Princess Eugenie told Vogue that after the wedding, the sisters were about to attend a Buckingham Palace garden party when they heard about an article written about Beatrice.
“There was a horrible article that had been written about Beatrice and she got really upset,” Eugenie explained. “We were just about to step out and she had a bit of a wobble and cried. I was looking after her. And then about an hour later, I had a wobble and started crying and Bea was there for me.”
Princess Beatrice added: “It’s hard to navigate situations like these because there is no precedent, there is no protocol.
“We want to show people who we are as working, young, royal women, but also not to be afraid of putting ourselves out there.
“Nowadays it’s so easy to recoil when you see a perfect image on Instagram—but it’s important that it’s real. We’re real.”
The full interview with the sisters will appear in the September issue of British Vogue. In the same issue, Rihanna makes history on the cover as the first black cover model.
