Prince Andrew celebrated his 58th birthday on Monday with hundreds of people wishing him a happy birthday on social media.
The Duke and Duchess separated in 1992, amidst long periods of separation caused by his military career and media attention towards the Duchess, and divorced in 1996.
However, the couple committed to raising their daughters together and have maintained a healthy relationship post-divorce. They are often dubbed by the media as the world’s happiest divorced couple and still often holiday together, as they are in this instance.
They are known to share a home and regularly attend events and holiday together.
Since the news of Princess Eugenie’s engagement to Jack Brooksbank was announced, Sarah has been posting quotes on social media about her family.
Following the news of the engagement, she tweeted: “A total embrace of goodness and joy.
“We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son, a brother and a best friend.
“Eugenie is one of the finest people I know and so together it will be pure harmony.”
In a separate tweet, she posted: “I always say that the river flows well to it’s destiny because of the guidance of a solid rock.”
Prince Andrew retweeted his former wife’s messages on his official account.
