The Countess of Wessex is to make two foreign visits in the coming weeks.

In recent years, Edward and Sophie have become increasingly involved with the organisation as they support Prince Philip, who founded the The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in 1956.

Edward will eventually inherit the title of the Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie will become the Duchess of Edinburgh.

Three weeks later on November 20, Sophie will travel solo to Hong Kong, where she will continue to promote the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

During her two-day visit, the Countess will also be guest of honour at 100 Women in Hedge Funds’ inaugural Hong Kong Gala.

The fundraising event which will take place on November 20 will benefit The Hong Kong Award for Young People, which works with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation.

The two international visits for the Countess of Wessex comes just weeks after she made a solo visit to India and Qatar and travelled to South Africa with Prince Edward.

Last month Sophie visited India and Qatar in support of eye-care charity, ORBIS.

In recent years Sophie has increased her royal duties as she supports her mother-in-law, The Queen, at home and abroad.

During her visit to India, the mother-of-two met patients being treated for eye-care, winning praise for her kind and compassionate nature after spending a generous amount of time meeting and chatting with them.
