<![CDATA[The Queen has added a second foreign visit to her diary for this year, as it has been announced she will visit Italy in April.
The 87-year-old monarch, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will travel to Italy on April 3 after being invited by the President of Italy, President Giorgio Napolitano.
During their day-visit the royals will visit the Presidential Palace, where they will be treated to a private lunch hosted by the President.

After the lunch, the Queen and Prince Philip will travel to the Vatican where they will have an audience with His Holiness Pope Francis.
Last year, in March, the Queen had to cancel a planned trip to Italy due to ill-heatlh. Her Majesty was due to spend two days visiting the country, however after undergoing “medical checks” it was decided the trip would not go ahead.
The announcement that the Queen will travel to Italy in April comes just a day after it was confirmed she will make a three-day state visit to France this summer.
In June, Her Majesty and Prince Philip will travel France on the invitation of president Francois Hollande.
They will arrive in France on June 5 and will mark the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy the following day.
After marking the D-Day landings the Queen and the Duke will travel on to Paris where they will be received by Francois Hollande and take part in state events to honour their visit.
