The Queen will be the first person to be told of the Royal Baby’s birth.

Her Majesty The Queen is to receive a special encrypted phone call when the Royal Baby is born. According to information released last month by St James’s Palace, Her Majesty will be one of the first people to know when the royal baby is born.

It is said that Prince William will call his grandmother from a specially encrypted mobile phone when the baby is born.

The Cambridge’s private secretary, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton will inform Prime Minister David Cameron and a small number of other high ranking people, including the Archbishop of Canterbury.

In keeping with the tradition of a royal birth, a special message will be prepared at St Mary’s Hospital after the birth which will then be especially driven by police escort to Buckingham Palace whereupon it will be displayed in an easel just behind the railings of Buckingham Palace.

The occasion will also be marked by a gun salute at the saluting bases in the United Kingdom including the Tower of London and Hyde Park.

The King's Troop

The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery will fire a salute from Hyde Park on the occasion of the birth.

As part of this tradition, the first round of the salute will be presented to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as a token of the occasion.

The Duchess is expected to be admitted to hospital in the next week in preparation for the birth which is known to be in mid-July.

Some sources say that there’s a helicopter on standby should the Duchess go into labour when Prince William is working.
