Princess Anne is all smiles at Royal Ascot following the birth of her fourth granddaughter

The Princess Royal looked delighted on Tuesday at Royal Ascot following the birth of her fourth granddaughter.

Princess Anne, whose daughter gave birth to her second child on Monday, was all smiles in the carriage procession as she sat next to her mother, The Queen.

Her Majesty was dressed in a bright yellow outfit as she led the carriage procession on the first day of Royal Ascot.

Joining The Queen and Princess Anne in the first carriage was the Duke of York and the Master of the Horse, Lord Vestey.

Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday afternoon that Zara Tindall has given birth to a baby girl.

The baby weighs 9lbs 3oz and was born on Monday in Stroud Maternity Unit. Zara’s husband, Mike, was present at the birth.

The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mike’s parents, Philip and Linda Tindall, have been informed and are delighted with the news. The baby’s name will be confirmed in due course.

This is the second child for Zara and Mike Tindall who are also parents to four-year-old Mia Tindall.

Mia Grace Tindall was born on 17 January 2014. A few days later, on 23 January, Mike Tindall announced their daughter’s name via Twitter. It would be a safe bet he will do the same this time around.

Zara Tindall is the only daughter of Princess Anne and Capitan Mark Phillips. They decided not to give their children royal titles, so Mia and her new sister also do not have a title.
