The Queen was joined by members of her family this morning as they attended the traditional Easter Day Service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.
Dressed in bright Spring yellow coat and hat, the Queen made her way into the chapel alongside Prince Philip and her children: Prince Edward, Prince Andrew and Princess Anne.
Also present for the service were Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and the Countess of Wessex.
The Duke of Cambridge was absent from the ceremony, as he spends the holidays in Kenya where he is attending an old friend’s wedding.
Meanwhile, The Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are believed to be spending Easter with the Middleton family in Berkshire.
Prince Harry was also away, after he extended his trip to Nepal by six days in order to assist with the rebuilding of a school.
Despite the rain and wind, crowds gathered outside of the chapel to get a glimpse of the Queen as she was greeted by the Dean of Windsor, Revd David Connor who presided over the Easter Mattins Service.
After the service ended, Her Majesty collected a bouquet of flowers from seven-year-old Christabella Maners before returning to Windsor Castle.
The Queen always spends Easter at Windsor Castle. She will also be in residence here when she celebrates her milestone 90th birthday on April 21.
Official celebrations will later be held in London in June.
