Her Majesty wins ‘royal mum of the year’

Her Majesty The Queen has been voted the ‘Royal mum of the year’ in a survey created by Disney.

The poll was issued as part of Disney’s search for the ‘Celebrity Mum of the Year’ for 2014. The voting figures have been revealed to the public and show that The Queen, who has four children, received equal votes to the Duchess of Cambridge in the survey. The results illustrate how 50 per cent of people agreed that The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge were the top ‘Royal mothers’ of the year, being positioned above other Royal mothers such as Princess Anne and Zara Tindall, who gave birth to her first child in January this year.

The results from this survey come soon after Prince Charles revealed to the audience at the Prince’s Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards that he has been learning the ropes of ‘grandfatherhood’ since the birth of his first grandchild, Prince George, last year. The Prince of Wales’ speech at the awards ceremony was interrupted at one point by a crying baby, to which he reacted with: “I’ve been taking lessons in grandfatherhood.” He continued by saying: “I’m getting used to this now and I know when something needs a bottle – or maybe it’s something else.”
