Form an orderly queue, Chefs! Her Majesty is seeking a new Sous Chef. An open call was posted on the official British Monarchy website detailing the requirements, salary, and specifications needed from the applicant.
To the tune of a £23,000 per annum salary, the position of Sous Chef calls for someone well versed in Her Majesty’s simple favorites.
Besides having the right technical qualifications, such as a City and Guilds catering qualification, The Queen is also looking for a true Chef, someone who has a real way with food, a real passion for it. Furthermore, the 87-year-old monarch is seeking someone who can turn out truly royal dishes, but also daily meals of favourite and traditional English cuisines, but also someone who can whip up an elaborate banquet for 800 guests.
The position will also require the new Sous Chef to work with and train Junior Chefs in the art of creating exceptional, high-standard cuisine. The Sous Chef, although based in Buckingham Palace, will also be required to be travel with a team of Chefs to other Royal residences and estates, including venturing out of the London-area. Sous Chefs will also be responsible for menu planning and development, with fa ocus on detailed planning and organization.
