NBC’s Today Show, usually recorded in New York City, will be dedicating all four hours of their programme to the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and his American actress fiancé Meghan Markle next month on the ground in Windsor.
In a press release, NBC said, “All four hours of NBC News’ TODAY are heading to Windsor to bring the excitement of the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to viewers back home.”
It all begins on 16 May with Guthrie and Kotb hosting a one hour NBC primetime special, “Inside the Royal Wedding: Harry and Meghan” at 10 pm EST. It will provide “viewers an exclusive and unprecedented glimpse into the fairy-tale romance that has captured the imagination and hearts of everyone around the world.” Interviews with close friends of the couple will take place during the programme.
On 17 May, Kotb will be reporting live on the ground in Windsor to show American viewers an early peak and final preparations before the wedding of the year with one of their own joining the ranks of the British Royal Family.
On the day before the wedding, Friday, 18 May, the show’s hosts Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Megyn Kelly and Kathie Lee Gifford will be anchoring their respective hours from Windsor. The show airs from 7-11 am EST and will be filmed at an exclusive location overlooking Windsor Castle.
