This was not the first HIV test for Prince Harry, earlier this year he broke ground when he was tested for AIDS live on Facebook. The side-effect of those tests were a 500% increase in the demand for HIV/AIDS testing.
Now, during his tour of the Caribbean he has taken yet another test, this time with pop star and Barbados native, Rihanna.
The two were both in the country to help celebrate the country’s 50th anniversary of independence, including the “Toast the Nation” event the day before where Rhianna surprised the prince by showing up unexpected on Wednesday.
Kensington Palace described the two undergoing the test as a demonstration of “how easy it is to be tested for HIV.” The test took place in the center of Bridgetown, where Prince Harry and Rihanna also met with volunteers operating the stands which had everything from a barber’s shop to a condom corner.

According to the National HIV/AIDS program for Barbados, men are at a much higher risk to contract the disease. Men are also more likely than women to be diagnosed later in life with HIV, as well as more likely to die of AIDS-related illnesses.
Part of the campaign in the country is focused on a more open discussion about AIDS and encouraging men to get tested.
Prince Harry first met Rihanna the day before at the “Toast the Nation” event when the singer turned up unexpectedly. The two were scheduled to meet that evening when they shared the stage to celebrate Barbados independence.
The crowd cheered loudly for the prince who gave a speech “of the historic milestone of 50 years of independence of this beautiful nation”, but the cheers for Rihanna were beyond that of Harry’s. The pop star sang the national anthem joined by a children’s choir.
The impressive evening was topped off by a spectacular fireworks display.
