Prince Harry Makes Surprise Visit To His Sentebale Garden At Chelsea Flower Show

The garden, made by Jinny Blom, as part of his charitable work for his charity Sentebale was designed to reflect Prince Harry’s experience of losing his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Today, the Prince turned up unexpectedly to inspect his garden. He was expected to turn up to the show next week, though his appearance today was a break with precedent. Usually, the Royal Family turn up to the Chelsea Flower Show on the Monday before it opens to the public.

It is thought that Prince Harry was closely involved in the design of the garden from the start. The garden was made in honour of his charity created with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, Sentable, which focuses on assisting and helping vulnerable children in Africa.

Prince Harry has just returned from a week-long tour of the United States during which he managed to promote and pursue many charitable interests of his, including one previously of his mothers to do with stopping the use of land mines.

A spokesman for St James’s Palace told the Telegraph newspaper: “It was an unannounced private visit.”

Prince Harry has seen a surge in popularity and recognition since his recent tour of America. It is believed that the Prince will be taking on more royal duties now in his own right, and on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.

The Chelsea Flower show is due to be attended by The Queen on 20th May.
