On the second and final day of his trip to Singapore, Prince Harry lead a moment of silence for those affected by the London Terror Attack that took place on Saturday.
Before Prince Harry took to the polo field for a charity game in support of his organisation, Sentebale, the announcer asked for the moment saying it was “a mark of respect for all the victims and those affected by the terror attacks in London on Saturday night.”
Harry joined the celebrity filled crowd in bending his head of the moment of silence.
All was postive after, with Prince Harry’s team winning the Sentebale Polo Cup 5-2 with two of those points scored by Harry.
The prince founded Sentebale with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to support youth effected with HIV/AIDS. A message in the programme from Prince Harry spoke of the achievements made by the foundation.
“In the past year we have expanded operations into Botswana, addressing the pressing needs of the country with the world’s third-highest HIV prevalence,” the message started. “We will continue to support the global commitment to ending the Aids epidemic by 2030.
“We believe that we cannot beat HIV without giving children and adolescents the voice they deserve.
“It is our ambition to change the tide of this epidemic by ensuring more young people know their status, access treatment and are empowered to tackle stigma and play their part in bringing the Aids epidemic to an end.”
After the succesful match, Prince Harry made a visit to the Jamiyah Children’s Home.
From Singapore, Prince Harry will travel to Sydney to join Invictus athletes in starting the offical countdown to Invictus 2018 which will take place in the Australian city.
At the end of September of this year, Prince Harry will head over to Toronto, Canada where the third installment of the Invictus Games will be held.
