Around this time last year, Prince Harry met his current flame, US Suits actress, Meghan Markel. Things got serious between the two pretty quickly. The question isn’t will Harry propose? But when? And what ring will he give Meghan?
Marie Claire has provided a few options. All of them, of course, are fit for future royalty. Harry might choose to follow in his brother’s footsteps by giving Meghan a family ring. If so, he has plenty to choose from.
The Queen’s Sapphire and Diamond Ring is one option. It’s similar to the ring Prince William gave his wife, but it has more diamonds. The Queen is pictured wearing it below with the full set.
Another option is The Queen’s Engagement Ring; though not unheard of, The Queen would have to forfeit this ring as rings are passed down from one generation to the next. The diamonds in this stunner were taken from a tiara worn by Prince Philip’s mother.
The Queen Mother’s Engagement Ring is also lovely with a sapphire surrounded by two diamonds. The Queen Mother eventually stopped wearing this ring, which brings us to The Queen Mother’s replacement Ring. This ring has a pearl surrounded by diamonds.
Prince Harry’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales had several rings in her collection, which he could select for his future bride, just as his brother did. One is her Eternity Band which she first wore before her marriage. She paired this ring with a simple gold band that she wore on her pinky. The gold pinky ring was an 18th birthday present from her parents.
Diana also had an Aquamarine Ring she wore during a Christy’s auction in 1997 and to a gala in Australia. This emerald-cut ring could be the one Harry might choose if he wants to gift Meghan something of his mother’s.
It will be interesting if, or when Harry pops the question. He might surprise the world and propose with a ring of his own design. Or, maybe he’ll let Meghan design it herself. Stranger things have happened.
What do you think? Is there a ring we’ve missed? How do you think Harry will propose? What ring might he give to Meghan? Tell us in the comments.
