Andrew Morton writing biography of Meghan Markle

Andrew Morton is writing a biography of Meghan Markle. The book is slated for release a month before the royal wedding.

Morton has authored books on celebrities such as Monica Lewinsky, Madonna, Tom Cruise, and Angelina Jolie. Morton also wrote a biography about the late Diana, Princess of Wales called Princess Diana: In Her Own Words. The book he’s currently writing about Prince Harry’s future Duchess is titled Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.

This book, according to Morton is an “in-depth biography,” of the former actress and humanitarian. He announced the project via Twitter last weekend.

“Excited to be writing #MeghanMarkle’s story. She has bags of charisma. A royal star who will have [a] tremendous impact on royal family and [the] wider world.”

In his book, Morton promises to provide “a comprehensive, unparalleled look at her life prior to the royal engagement.”

He admits to being a fan of Markle during her Suits days. He calls the future royal “confident, groomed and camera ready,” he told The Bookseller. He added that this was “a dramatic contrast to the blushing, coy royal brides of recent history.”

He compared the dynamics displayed by Harry and Meghan to other past royal couples, “The warmth and affection Meghan and Harry displayed during their engagement interview is light years away from the stilted ‘whatever love means’ conversation with Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981.”

Morton also discussed how Markle breaks previous royal stereotypes as a biracial American who is an actress and divorcee: “Meghan is an exciting and genuinely charismatic addition to the royal family—she makes the House of Windsor seem relevant again.”

Meghan Markle’s paternal half-sister, Samantha Grant is also talking about Meghan in her upcoming memoir, The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister. Grant denies this will be a tell-all book slamming her sister; instead, it will focus on the “beautiful nuances” of their lives, and how “interracial evolution”—through the lens of her family’s experiences—” intersects with the recent events” involving Markle -namely, her relationship with Prince Harry.
