On Thursday afternoon, The Queen hosted her third garden party of the summer.
This time it was the turn of Hollywood to meet royalty, as actor Benedict Cumberbatch mingled with the royal family.
The Star Trek: Into Darkness actor was spotted chatting to Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
The stylish royal was attending the third party of the season, as the crowds took to the beautiful lawns of Buckingham Palace, which are only open to the public at these events.
Sophie, married to the Queen’s son Prince Edward, has most recently increased her royal duties, and this was her second event in two days.
The Countess visited the Guildford Flower Festival on Wednesday as she spent a day in Surrey. Sophie arrived in a summery white dress where she was greeted by excited children.
Sophie, who has recently been announced as the first ever patron of London College of Fashion, has been praised for her warm nature, and in recent years has represented The Queen on many trips abroad. Last year, the Earl and Countess visited Gibraltar as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations where they were met with crowds of well-wishers.
The Countess enjoys a close relationship with her mother-in-law The Queen and the 86-year-monarch often pops into Edward and Sophie’s home for a cup of tea.
The Queen will host a fourth garden party as the summer season continues.
