The royal pack were attending the wedding of the beautiful Lady Melissa Percy and her beau Thomas Van Straubenzee in Northumberland.

As the Princes arrived, crowds had gathered to see the wedding party. Prince William was attending the wedding without his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge. Pregnant Kate decided to stay home due to being heavily pregnant, deciding it was best to miss the busy day. William and Harry were groomsmen for Thomas, and as they arrived the pair were met by rapturous applause.

The royals were attending the wedding alongside a guest list of 500, including Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton, Chelsy Davy, who was a bridesmaid and Prince Harry’s rumoured girlfriend Cressida Bonas.

Princess Beatrice, arriving with her beau Dave Clark, looked stunning in a blue long sleeved dress. The long-term couple were accompanied by Beatrice’s sister Eugenie who arrived in a looking lovely in green.

Lady Melissa, 26, is the daughter of the Duchess of Northumberland, and the stunning tennis coach was marrying the good friend of the Princes, Thomas van Straubenzee. Thomas is a chartered-surveyor and has been close to the royal pair for many years.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s magnificent nuptials, the Duchess of Northumberland spoke of her anticipation for her daughter’s wedding.

“We are really excited,” the Duchess told The Journal newspaper.

Melissa arrived at the church in a gold and black horse-drawn carriage, looking radiant in a Bruce Oldfield gown. Her dress will be on display at the family’s home Alnwick Castle after the wedding, which was the setting for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.

After the wedding service, guests made their way to a reception held in the state rooms of the Castle. Guests and members of the community were also treated to a firework display in the evening.

Joining the royals, guests included Tara Palmer Tompkinson, Holly Branson and Made In Chelsea’s Proudlock.

Mother of the bride, the Duchess of Northumberland, sent out an extended invitation to the community telling a local paper she wanted “local people to feel this is their wedding”.

“This is all about the local extended Alnwick family and we really want them to share in it,” the Duchess said.

The newlyweds are close friends of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges and earlier this year the couple attended the wedding of Laura Bechtolsheimer and Mark Tomlinson in Switzerland, along with William and Kate.
