Prince and Princess Michael of Kent ‘thrilled’ to become grandparents

Prince and Princess Michael of Kent have revealed their joy of becoming grandparents for the first time, after son Lord Frederick Windsor welcomed a baby girl with wife Sophie.

“We are absolutely thrilled by the arrival of our beautiful first granddaughter Maud,” the Prince told Hello! magazine. “We are both besotted with her.”

Prince Michael of Kent has revealed he and wife Princess Michael are overjoyed at becoming grandparents.

The Prince was speaking as new parents Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor introduced their daughter Maud to the world in an exclusive interview with the magazine.

“Not only does she have the prettiest blue eyes and adorable tiny feet, but she is also remarkably well-behaved,” Michael, the Queen’s cousin added.

Lord Frederick also revealed that his and Sophie’s first daughter’s name Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina holds a fitting tribute to The Queen.

“Elizabeth is a tribute to the Queen, Daphne is Sophie’s grandmother, who she was very close to and Marina is my paternal grandmother,” the proud new father explains.

The new parents, who live in Los Angeles, also revealed they are yet to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby Prince George.

“Perhaps we’ll introduce the babies at Buckingham Palace for the Christmas Lunch,” Sophie says. “That would be very sweet.

Prince Michael also added that he and wife Princess Michael are yet to meet the new third-in-line but “look forward to doing so at Christmas”.
