Thomas Markle speaks of his regrets and tells relatives to “shut up”

The Duchess of Sussex’s dad, Thomas Markle, has spoken of his regret that he was not able to walk his daugher down the aisle, and has told his relatives to “shut up”.

Speaking to TMZ, Mr Markle said: “When you watch your child get married every thought goes through your mind, every memory from the first day she was born, the first time I held her.

“Now I pray that Harry and Meghan can go on a nice honeymoon and rest and relax and all of my relatives will just shut up about everything.

“The service was beautiful and it’s history. I will always regret not being able to be there and not being able to hold my daughter’s hand. My baby girl is a Duchess and I love her so much.”

He added that he text Meghan and Harry expressing his love.

Yesterday, Mr Markle said that he is “honoured and grateful” that the Prince of Wales walked his daughter down the aisle in St George’s Chapel.

Yesterday Kensington Palace announced that Prince Charles would walk Meghan down the aisle at her wedding to Prince Harry after Mr Markle could not attend due to ill health.

He underwent an operation earlier this week for a heart condition meaning he is unable to travel to the UK for Harry & Meghan’s wedding.

Thomas Markle told TMZ that he spoke to both Meghan and Harry yesterday. Meghan gave Thomas her love and expressed her worries about his health.
