Prince Harry Hosts Obama at Kensington Palace

On Saturday Prince Harry hosted Obama during the former US President’s latest visit to Europe.

Obama visited Kensington Place following his first ever visit to Scotland. He golfed at St Andrew’s and spoke at a charity dinner in Edinburgh.

Prince Harry and Obama spoke about the work of their foundations and issues close to both of them.

“Good to see my friend Prince Harry in London to discuss the work of our foundations and offer condolences to victims of the Manchester attack.” Obama tweeted.

The former President and First Lady have a strong relationship with the young Royals. Michelle Obama had dinner with Princes Harry and William, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George. In 2015, Prince Harry visited the White House.

Kensington Place said that: “They discussed a range of shared interests including support for veterans, mental health, conversation, empowering young people and the work of their respective foundations.”

Mental health as been a key issue for Prince Harry who has spoken publicly about receiving counselling.

Kensington Palace also said that they discussed the terrorist attack in Manchester. Obama offered his condolences to the victims and support for those recovering from their injuries.

The tragic incident following an Ariana Grande concert left 22 dead and more than 59 injured after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives.

While in Germany Obama delivered a message to Manchester alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.

“As the father of two daughters, I am heartbroken by the extraordinary tragedy that has occurred in Manchester

“To all the families who have been affected, to those who are still recovering, to those who’ve lost loved ones, it’s unimaginable to think about the cruelty and the violence that the city of Manchester has suffered,” he said.
