The Duchess of Sussex’s mother, Doria Ragland, is ”’overjoyed” at the birth of her grandson and is now at Frogmore Cottage with the Sussex family. She is staying with Meghan, Harry and their baby boy as they all begin life together as a family.
The son of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was born at 5.26am on May 6th 2019. He is seventh in line to the throne. His arrival was announced by Buckingham Palace and confirmed on the official Instagram account belonging to the royal couple.
The official announcement of his birth said ”The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.”
It’s not yet clear where Baby Sussex made their debut. Meghan went into labour in the early hours of this morning and her child was born soon afterwards. It is understood the Duchess of Sussex had wanted a home birth for her first child.
The Queen, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were all told about the new arrival before the announcement was made.
Baby Sussex weighed 7lbs and 3oz. His name hasn’t yet been announced.
