Meghan Markle sits in private box during Invictus closing ceremony

What a week it has been, Prince Harry has successfully pulled off the third Invictus Games and his girlfriend, Meghan Markle is helping him celebrate.

Seated in a private box, Meghan is on hand to bring the games to a close where the competitors, their families and fans will watch performances from Bruce Springsteen, Kelly Clarkson and Brian Adams.

Royal watchers anxiously awaited to see if Prince Harry would bring his girlfriend to the opening ceremonies. Meghan showed up seated the section over from Prince Harry and the other diplomats such as Melania Trump and Justin Trudeau. She was sitting with Markus Anderson, who is rumoured to have introduced the couple. Meghan snuck out of her seat before the ceremony closed, just after Prince Harry gave his on-stage speech.

Only two days later, Meghan showed up again, this time at the wheelchair tennis held in the very open Nathan Philips Square in the middle of downtown Toronto. Arriving hand in hand, the couple looked as relaxed as one could in her first big appearance with Harry. They stayed for around 20 minutes, cheering on New Zealand v Australia and spoke with the families of the athletes seated around them after the match was complete.

One spectator, Justine Wilson said: “They were very casual, it was nice to see. It was nice to see them cheering for both sides.”

When asked if she thought they were already engaged, she replied: “I wouldn’t want to presume.”

This appearance was significant as it marks the first time Prince Harry has taken his girlfriend of 18 months to an official event.

Rumours will continue to spread as it is expected that an announcement regarding the engagement of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle will take place by the end of the year.
