In celebration of the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry to his American fiancé Meghan Markle, Marks & Spencer has rebranded in Windsor and changed their name to Markle & Sparkle. This will only be temporary and last through this weekend before reverting to Marks & Spencer.
In addition, some Markle & Sparkle stores this weekend will feature specially designed windows and decor; these include Kensington & Chelsea, Reading, Swindon and Sutton Coldfield locations. The Windsor location will be passed during the carriage ride by the newlyweds this afternoon which is due to begin around 1300hrs. The store is decked out in the Union Jack with the colours of red, white and blue (coincidentally the colours of both the flags of the UK and USA). Limited edition packs of sweets (based on Percy Pig and his girlfriend who married earlier this month) have also been issued that say, “Congratulations Percy and Penny, with strawberry hearts to celebrate the big day.”
Markle & Sparkle’s Sharry Cramond told The Sun, “As a retailer, we’ve celebrated 34 royal weddings over our 134-year history, but this is the boldest idea we’ve delivered yet.
Harry and Meghan will wed in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle at noon with the carriage procession taking place afterwards for roughly 2.3 kilometres through the town of Windsor. The couple will join their guest at the reception after the carriage ride at St George’s Hall before attending a smaller evening reception later on hosted by The Prince of Wales.
