With the Duchess of Sussex due to give birth any minute, fans are eagerly awaiting Baby Sussex’s arrival. Sporting Index, the world’s leading sports spread betting company, is making the anxious wait a little more fun.
According to Sporting Index, it’s predicted that the new royal will weigh in at 7lbs and 8oz.
If Sporting Index stands correct, the newborn would be slightly heavier than their father, the Duke of Sussex, who weighed in at 6lbs and 14 oz when he was born in 1984.
The newborn would also weigh in lighter than their cousin Prince Louis. Louis tipped the scales at 8lbs 7oz when he was born last year. His brother, Prince George arrived in 2013 at 8lbs 6oz and their sister, Princess Charlotte came in just a little bit lighter at 8lbs 3 oz.
Neville Burdock, the head of trading at Sporting Index said:
“The nation has gone into baby frenzy once again and with the Duchess of Sussex set to give birth any day now, and we predict the new-born will arrive at 7lbs 8oz.”
Burdock went on to add, “That means we could be welcoming one of the lightest royal babies in some time, given Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all tipped the scales over 8lbs in recent years.”
Baby Sussex is due any minute now. Earlier this month, the couple announced that they would be keeping the birth of their royal bundle private. Once they have celebrated as a family, photos will be released in due course.
Prince Harry and Meghan recently moved to Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle where they plan to raise their child. The facility underwent major renovations before the couple moved in earlier this month. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland is said to be in town to help the couple when their baby arrives.
