Celebrities react to Baby Sussex

He’s the baby everyone is talking about, and actors, designers, comedians, athletes, and friends of the couple posted congratulatory tweets and Instagram posts for the newest member of the Royal Family yesterday.

Some of Meghan’s costars from Suits shared their excitement about Baby Sussex, including Patrick J. Adams, who is hopeful for a royal play date, and Sarah Rafferty, who attended Meghan’s New York baby shower.

Wendell Pierce, who played Meghan’s onscreen father, tweeted, “Congratulations to the Prince & Duchess with their new baby boy! God Bless.”

The official Suits account also sent good wishes for the couple, re-tweeting the official baby announcement from The Royal Family Twitter account.

Comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who, coincidentally, encouraged Meghan to adopt her dog Bogart from a California shelter years ago, posted a humorous tweet.

The Oscar de la Renta account posted a photo of Meghan in one of their designs on both Twitter and Instagram, writing: “Congratulations to #MeghanMarkle, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry who welcomed a baby boy to the royal family this morning!”

Former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, who has spent time with Harry over the years and met up with Meghan when she was in the UK last December, sent a congratulatory message via Twitter, which her husband re-tweeted.

U.S. television presenter Ryan Seacrest made a Game of Thrones joke in his congratulatory tweet.

Meghan’s friend and celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin re-posted the baby announcement graphic on Instagram, sharing his excitement about being a “guncle” (gay uncle).

Facialist to the stars Nichola Joss, whom Meghan has seen for treatments, also re-posted the birth announcement on Instagram with her good wishes for the Sussexes.

Tennis great Billie Jean King tweeted her joy for the “loving, inclusive, and progressive parents.”

Even Paddington Bear got caught up in the happy news … maybe he’ll send some books to Baby Sussex?
