Prince Harry & Meghan Markle make their first official appearance as a couple

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their first official appearance together in public at the Invictus Games.

Attending a wheelchair tennis match, Harry and Meghan arrived hand-in-hand at the venue and watched the sporting action from the stands.

The fifth-in-line to the throne and his actress girlfriend spoke to some of the athletes and those who were also spectating the tennis.

After the event came to an end, Meghan shook the hands of children who were spectating in nearby seats.

This appearance is significant as it marks the first time Prince Harry has taken his girlfriend of 18 months to an official event.

It will further spur rumours that the pair will soon become engaged.

Reporting from the wheelchair tennis match, Royal Central’s Deputy Editor, Jamie Samhan, says that Meghan looked “very relaxed” throughout the event and would “fit into The Royal Family well.”

One spectator, Justine Wilson said: “They were very casual, it was nice to see. It was nice to see them cheering for both sides.”

When asked if she thought they were already engaged, she replied: “I wouldn’t want to presume.”

Miss Markle attended the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday evening.

On Saturday, Harry and Meghan both attended the Invictus Opening Ceremony but were seated in different locations.

A few stands away from Meghan, Prince Harry was sat beside First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, and Governor General David Johnston. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie were in the row in front.

This is a breaking news story. More details will be added as the information becomes available.
