While in the newsroom, the Duchess spoke with staff and recalled the very recent Royal Wedding this past weekend.

Speaking of the wedding, the Duchess said: “It’s nice to have something that is uplifting rather than depressing.

“Everything was just perfect, including the weather, which couldn’t have been better. It was a beautiful day.”

In a frantic turn of event, the Duchess of Sussex’s father, Thomas Markle had to undergo heart surgery and was no longer to walk her down the aisle. Meghan eventually asked Prince Charles to step in his place which he proudly did.

Likely referring to the situations, Camilla said: “It was such a lovely day. Just everything went right.”

The Duchess helped cut a cake for the occasion and sat in on an editorial meeting where Simon Vigar, the shows royal correspondent discussed an interview Camilla gave on domestic abuse; a topic she is very passionate about.

The trip was complete with a tour of the control room to which the Duchess of Cornwall joked “never a dull moment here, I can imagine.”

She was asked why she picked a “taboo” subject like domestic abuse, Camilla noted: “It is a subject everyone knew about but rarely talks about.

“I talk to a lot of women and some of the charities involved, and it just sparked something in me.

“I thought it was high time that we started talking about it. For some of the women involved it is very, very harrowing. It is a subject that has been under wraps for too long.”
