Royal Garden Party Season of 2019 starts: the photos

It’s another sign that summer is well and truly on its way. As May days lengthen and the sun strengthens in the sky, the doors of Buckingham Palace are thrown open for the annual garden party season. Three special events are held every year where thousands of invited guests get to sip tea, eat cake and rub shoulders with the Royal Family. Many are invited in recognition of the support they have given their local communities so it’s also a chance to celebrate their achievements. The first Garden Party at Buckingham Palace for 2019 was held on May 15th with the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Princess Royal in attendance. Here’s a look back at some of the best images of the day.
