It seems that Prince Charles and wife, the Duchess of Cornwall have a busy schedule ahead of them in Australia.
The couple arrived on Tuesday, 10 November and were greeted by various local officials on the tarmac. Among those to greet Charles and Camilla were Governor General, Sir Peter Cosgrove; the Southern Australian Governor, Hieu Van Le; and the State Premier, Jay Weatherill. The couple enjoyed a warm welcome beneath an overcast sky before being ushered into a white BMW that promptly left the RAAF Base.
Seppeltsfield Winery, Barossa Valley.
What followed was a visit to the Barossa Valley region where Charles and Camilla sampled what the local culture had to offer by way of art and community projects. They visited the Seppeltsfield Winery where they dined on kingfish, prawns, Barossa chorizo sausage, lamb, pork, and Wagyu beef. Furthermore, the Prince and Duchess enjoyed the local wine as well as the Seppeltsfield fortifieds.
Following their visit to the winery, the Duchess of Cornwall attended a roundtable event which centred around domestic violence. The Australian of the Year, Rosie Batty was present and she is well-known for campaigning against domestic violence. Rosie’s own son, Luke was murdered at the hands of his abusive father, Greg Anderson in 2014.

Elsewhere, the Prince of Wales travelled to Bowden where he oversaw the Prince’s Terraces, a house project which is funded by the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community. The goal of the project is to promote sustainable housing development with a strong focus on human values and architecture. In what is an exciting turn of events, the project was awarded Australia’s first ever six-star rating due to the fact that the homes used half as much energy and water as an average functioning house.
Next on the agenda for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall is a visit with the Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull on Wednesday, 11 November. Whilst there, they will attend Memorial Day ceremonies at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Following the events of 11 November, the royal couple will travel to Sydney and conclude their official tour in Western Australia on Sunday, 15 November.
