On Pointe: Charles and Camilla visit Scottish Ballet


The Duke of Rothesay, Patron, and The Duchess of Rothesay visited the Scottish Ballet Headquarters at the Tramway complex in Glasgow on Wednesday.

The Royal couple were shown the facility, took in some of the rehearsals and meet with dancers.

An award-winning National Dance Company, the Scottish Ballet one of five national performing arts companies in Scotland.

Scottish Ballet performs across the globe with tours lasting six months out of the year. The company tours throughout the UK and across Scotland as well as the rest of Europe, North America and Asia.

The company provides a wide range of activities for persons of all ages and economic backgrounds. Recently they began a programme for young people with behavioural issues.

A keen lover of the arts Charles has been Patron of the Scottish Ballet since 2009. The Prince is also President of the Royal Ballet in London, a position held since 2003.
