Comedian Harry Hill delighted Celebrity Bake Off viewers with his winning biscuit featuring an exotic Duchess of Cornwall.
Harry and his fellow bakers, comedian Roisin Conaty, broadcaster Bill Turnbull and actor Martin Kemp, were tasked to recreate their favourite day in biscuit form.
Choosing to bake the day he went on holiday with the Duchess of Cornwall, Harry told judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood: “This was a holiday that I had with Camilla Parker Bowles on an exotic island, which shall remain nameless.”
The comical biscuit showstopper featured the Duchess of Cornwall sunbathing in a swimsuit on a union jack towel, a horse on a surfboard, and a wise 12-year-old turtle.
The 53-year-old received positive feedback from the judges, with Prue saying his biscuit was “absolutely amazing”, bagging himself star baker and becoming the overall winner of the episode.
However, it was the biscuits ridiculous backstory that got viewers talking on Twitter.
@lita12557 tweeted: “Harry Hill and his holiday with Camilla Parker Bowles is the funniest thing I’ve heard in ages! Still chuckling..#GBBO”
@Mark_theMoff posted: “Cried with laughter at Harry Hill’s 3D biscuit sculpture of his holiday with Camilla Parker-Bowles #gbbo”
“I am loving Harry Hill’s story about his holiday with Camilla #GBBO #SU2C”, added @Marzifran.
While some viewers found themselves beginning to fall for the story’s absurdity: “#GBBO actually starting to believe Harry Hill’s Camilla story”, tweeted @KatRoseJones.
