Duchess of Cornwall reveals granddaughter was rushed to hospital in air ambulance

The Duchess of Cornwall has revealed that her granddaughter was rushed to hospital in an air ambulance. She made the revelation yesterday during her series of engagements in Wiltshire while she was opening the new purpose-built airbase at Wilts Air Ambulance.

During her visit to the air ambulance location, she was able to speak to staff and emergency crew of the new airbase which Clarence House said: “[The airbase] brings together the operational, fundraising and administrative teams on to one site.”

The Duchess thanked the emergency staff for their hard work and spoke of her first-hand experience with air ambulance services. She said, “I just really wanted to say a huge thank you to everybody who has been involved with this wonderful project. I know what fantastic work the air ambulance does.

“I’ve seen it and I have known friends that have literally been saved by it. Even in Yorkshire my granddaughter was taken off in the Yorkshire one, one year, and luckily she was sorted and alright, but it gave my daughter such confidence to be aboard it.”

Her Royal Highness added that her granddaughter, who she did not name, was “fine” after the accident.

Other details surrounded the incident are not known, and according to Hello, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance would not comment on individual cases.

She later when to Wilshire College and University where she officially launched the £9.2m new campus development project. Her Royal Highness also spoke to students and staff to learn about apprenticeships and the full and part-time university courses offered.

The Duchess of Cornwall has five grandchildren. She has two grandchildren through her son, Tom Parker Bowles, Lola and Freddie. She also has three grandchildren, Eliza, Gus and Louis, through her daughter, Laura Lopes.
