Conspiracy theorists emerge saying Prince Charles’ birthday and the supermoon are linked

Conspiracy theorists have emerged this evening claiming that the fact Prince Charles is sharing his 68th birthday with a supermoon is more than just a coincidence.

The so-called supermoon is happening this evening as the moon becomes 14% larger than normal and about 30% brighter.

Conspiracy theories claim that the Royal Family are connected with this phenomenon because this is not the first time such an event has occurred.

In 2013, Prince George was born under a supermoon on the 22nd of July 2013. Also, The Duke of Cambridge was also born during a rare solar event called a summer solace. The Duchess of Cambridge was born under a total lunar eclipse in the same year.

The idea that the Royal Family and the moon’s patterns are linked is of course far fetched, but some people sincerely hold this belief.

The conspiracy website Red Ice writes: “This is an interesting concurrence as the baby’s father, Prince William, was born on the summer solstice (June 21 1982) and the baby’s mother, Kate was born during a total lunar eclipse in the same year, and are sometimes referred to as the ‘Solstice King and his Lunar Queen.”

On Monday evening, the moon will be closer to the earth than it has been in almost 70 years. It will not come so close again until 2034.

The royals and the moon have been the inspiration for many legends and tales over the years.

In latter years of King George III’s reign, the monarch refused to leave the palace unless he was covered in the moonlight. Otherwise, his skin was said to blister.

What do you make of this story, could there be some truth in the claims or is it a lot of codswallop? Let us know by commenting below, and also take a look at 68 facts about Prince Charles on his birthday.
