ˮHello young lady, you’re looking absolutely marvellousˮ- Brian Blessed flirts with Camilla

Brian Blessed had the Duchess of Cornwall in stitches of laughter on Tuesday at Clarence House as the 81-year-old actor appeared to flirt with the royal.

As she was introduced to Mr Blessed at the launch of the Royal Voluntary Service’s Our Amazing People campaign, the actor said: “How are you, young lady? You’re looking absolutely marvellous?”

As Mr Blessed bent down to kiss Camilla’s hand, the 70-year-old Duchess said: “I remember coming to sit with you…”

The actor interrupted her and said: “Yes when you sat on my knee… I said to your husband, can I buy you?”

Camilla said: “He said you can have me free!”

The conversation continued as Mr Blessed complimented the 70-year-old again, saying: “But you’re looking wonderful.”

Camilla replied: “Well we struggle on don’t we, as we get older?”

The Duchess then carried along down the line to meet an array of other guests invited to the event, including Dame Patricia Routledge and Felicity Kendall.

The Royal Voluntary Service’s Our Amazing People campaign celebrates people who volunteer and make a contribution to society.

Camilla has been President of the Royal Voluntary Service since 2012. As part of her 70th birthday celebrations earlier this year, she became patron of The Silver Line, a helpline for elderly people.

At the event, dancer and choreographer Wayne Sleep said: “As far as I’m concerned age is just a number and I feel I’m in the prime of my life.

“Once you hit 65 it doesn’t mean you’re past it and unable to do certain things. I intend to continue performing and generally doing as much as I possibly can until I’m no longer able to.

“That’s what makes life so rich and rewarding.”
