William, Kate and Harry dine with President Obama

The President of the United States, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, visited Kensington Palace on Friday evening where they enjoyed dinner with The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte were allowed to stay up late to meet the special guests in the Cambridges’ private apartment.

The evening dinner comes after the Obamas had tea with The Queen at Windsor Castle earlier in the day.

The President has met has met William and Kate numerous times, the first being in May 2011 just after the couple’s wedding. This meeting was the first royal duty the Duke and Duchess undertook as a married couple.

Less than a month after their wedding, they greeted the President and his wife at Buckingham Palace for the start of his US state visit to the UK.

More recently Prince William travelled to Washington DC where he got the chance to meet President Obama in the Oval Office back in 2014.

After the birth of Princess Charlotte last year, The First Lady went to meet Prince George and his sister at Kensington Palace during her tour of the UK, and gave them presents to celebrate the birth.

Newborn Princess Charlotte was gifted with an American-made Amish rocking chair as well as a personalised Alpaca blanket. Her brother, Prince George, received an American-made children’s wagon known as a Berlin Flyer P-Wee Wagon.

Prince Harry also has a close friendship with the First Lady, through their work and efforts to support injured military personnel and his Invictus Games.

Earlier, Mr and Mrs Obama wished Her Majesty a very happy birthday, and gifted her with a photo album detailing her previous visits with Presidents and First Ladies.

This was after Prince Philip drove them on a short car journey to Windsor Castle, something very different to their usual bomb proof cars and entourage of CIA agents.

The President also met with Prime Minister David Cameron for talks and a joint press conference where he talked about why he believes Britain should remain in the European Union.

Wonderful article! Hope the kids and Her Majesty enjoyed their gifts. Just a minor correction – it’s the Secret Service not the CIA that protects the President everywhere or the Queen or other dignitaries when in the U.S. Cheers!

Too bad they were forced to deal these two pieces of garbage.

Well protocol sometimes has its downtimes. Poor Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, having to listen to the lies and stupidity knowing full well what they were all about.
