The Duchess of Cambridge is “very excited” for both upcoming royal weddings

The Duchess of Cambridge revealed her excitement over two royal weddings this year during her visit to the new Action on Addiction treatment centre in Essex.

Catherine greeted members of the crowd who’d come to see her at the treatment centre and told one that with Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie’s upcoming weddings that “It’s very exciting.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on 19 May, while Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will marry at the same venue on 12 October.

At the time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement was announced, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a statement saying, “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”

Catherine spoke to reporters the next day, saying that “William and I are thrilled at such exciting news. It’s a really happy time for any couple, and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment.”

During Catherine’s visit to the treatment centre, the Duchess of Cambridge unveiled a plaque marking the opening and spoke briefly about Action on Addiction.

“It seems like a long time ago since I first got involved with Action on Addiction, I think it’s about six years ago, but they have a very special place for me and were really the starting of my learning particularly now with the development into mental health,” said the Duchess.

“So you are very special to me, it’s great to be here and actually seeing the development of where the charity’s gone in the years gone past. Huge congratulations – I believe so passionately in community projects, so I wish it all the best of success in the future.”
