Social Media users believe Royal Baby will be a girl

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are just days away from welcoming their first child into the world, and as they wait it has been revealed that social media users believe the royal baby will be a girl.

People have taken to their social media pages, including Twitter, Facebook and blogs, to discuss what sex they believe the baby will be. According to social media monitor Synthesio, around 62 percent of users online believe the royal couple are expecting a girl.

It was also revealed that most users believe the girl will be named Alexandra, which is also currently the bookies’ favourite name. People in the United Kingdom were chatting online the most about the Royal Baby, with 28% of all royal baby talk coming from the UK, while United States accounted for 26% of it.

Synthesio also found that Commonwealth countries including Australia, India and South Africa have all been discussing the royal baby a significant amount in the online world.

The research also showed that most users in the UK believe the couple will call the child Alexandra, if a girl, while US users preferred Elizabeth for a girl. George, was also a favourite for a boy’s name.
