Prince William sat down with Alastair Campbell to discuss mental health and Heads Together for the men’s magazine, GQ. The full spread of photos included old ones from his childhood to new ones taken by photographer Norman Jean Roy.

The newest photos of the entire Cambridge family were taken at Kensington Palace and even feature the family dog, Lupo (pictured above). Prince William also looks more laid back then many are familiar with seeing him as he sits with his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte in the tall grass.

Prince William opens up to journalist and Tony Blair’s former spin-doctor, Alastair Campbell, talking about how the death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales has had a toll on him.

“I am in a better place about it than I have been for a long time, where I can talk about her more openly, talk about her more honestly, and I can remember her better, and publicly talk about her better.

“It has taken me almost 20 years to get to that stage. I still find it difficult now because at the time it was so raw. And also it is not like most people’s grief, because everyone else knows about it, everyone knows the story, everyone knows her,” Prince William expressed.

He added on: “I would like to have had her advice. I would love her to have met Catherine and to have seen the children grow up. It makes me said that she won’t, that they will never know her.”

Campbell tweeted about the interview expressing his wishes that his mother, who was a monarchist unlike himself, and Prince William’s mother could have been around to witness this.

The full interview is available in the July 2017 issue and can be purchased or downloaded on 1 June.
