Neighbours raise security concerns for William and Kate’s country home

Security questions at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s future country home have been raised.

Neighbours  of Anmer Hall on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate have revealed their fears for William, Kate and Prince George’s safety after it emerged two empty police cars may have sat unmoved outside the mansion for a month.

“I’ve heard of sleeping policeman, but not sleeping police cars,” one villager told The Telegraph, questioning whether the two marked cars would deter potential threats to the property.

They added: “Anyone can walk past the house at the moment and it is fairly obvious the cars have not been used.”

Anmer Hall, which has its own tennis court and swimming pool, is expected to become a country retreat for the Duke and Duchess and their young son as they escape the busy life of London.

James Everett, who ran his own company from its stables is believed to have relocated his business in preparation for the Cambridge’s arrival in the near future.

It is believed the family will use the Norfolk property while they visit the Queen during her annual stay at Sandringham.

However, a spokesman for the Norfolk police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the large property. “Norfolk Constabulary has a proud and long-standing commitment to provide additional security to the Royal Estate at Sandringham.”

Although they did not go into detail, explaining it is always their “policy not to provide detailed information” about their security program.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently based in London at Kensington Palace after making the move shortly after the birth of Prince George in July 2013.

The new parents are busy planning their April tour of Australia and New Zealand, which will see them undertake their longest overseas trip, with the royals spending a month in total on the visit.
