Kate’s hospital tightens security ahead of Royal Baby’s arrival

As the world awaits the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first child, the London hospital Kate is planning to give birth in has been preparing the final touches ahead of her arrival.

Kate is expected to give birth in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, and the hospital is making sure everything, including security, is perfect to welcome the future heir.

The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to give birth any day now.

“There is really tight security now on the ward,” revealed Lyza Marie Felicia, a radiologist’s assistant in the Lindo Wing to People magazine. “We have to sign our names in as we come into the ward and when we leave.”

Lyza also revealed security guards had been keeping tight-lipped about the impending royal arrival. “I asked security two days ago if Kate had arrived, he could only tell me that she hadn’t arrived,” she said.

As the hospital prepares to welcome Prince William and Kate’s first child, hospital porter Mohamed Bjell has explained the hospital is keen to make it “really special for her.”

“They have been cleaning the floor inside and outside the ward. They’ve repainted,” Mohamed told People magazine.

As mid-July passes, it is believed Kate could be overdue although Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall told reporters earlier this week they hoped the baby would be born by the end of the week.

“We are hopeful that by the end of the week he or she will be here,” the Duchess revealed on a visit to Cornwall.

It was confirmed last week the couple’s first child will be titled Prince or Princess (name) of Cambridge.
