‘He was such a good boy actually. We were very lucky’: Proud mum Kate on Prince George’s christening

The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed Prince George was on his best behaviour at Wednesday’s christening.

Proud mum Kate made the comments as she attended the 100 Women in Hedge Funds charity dinner at Kensington Palace on Thursday evening.

“He was such a good boy actually,” she told Sky News. “We were very lucky, he’s not always like that.”

Kate attended the dinner, which was held in the State Apartments at the London Palace, as her second solo engagement since Prince George’s birth.

The elegant Duchess wore an ink blue coloured dress from British designer Jenny Packham’s 2013 Autumn/Winter collection.

Kate did not have to travel far tonight as she, Prince William and Prince George moved in the Palace’s Apartment 1A earlier this year.

In 2012, Kate became a patron of the 100 Women in Hedge Funds for three years, and Thursday evening’s dinner was supporting Action on Addiction, of which the caring Duchess is also a patron.

Guests at this evening’s dinner have reportedly paid £60,000 a table, with many hoping to get a chance to meet the Duchess. William and Kate attended the same event together in 2011, just months after their royal wedding.

During the evening, Kate presented Dame Amelia Fawcett, DBE, with the coveted European Industry Leadership Award.

Last week, the wife of Prince William visited the Olympic Park in London where she spent time meeting young athletes.

The Duchess has been slowly returning to royal engagements since giving birth to George in July.

On Wednesday, Prince George’s christening took place in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace. Prince William and Kate chose the Chapel as they wanted the ceremony to be a “small intimate affair”.

The excited parents were joined by senior royals including The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry.
