  1. Catherine Elizabeth Middleton was born to Michael and Carole Middleton at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, on 9th January 1982.
  2. In 2001, the Duchess enrolled at the University of St Andrews, from where she graduated in 2005 with a 2:1 in History of Art.
  3. Kate followed wedding tradition, and for “something blue” had a blue ribbon sewn into the interior of her dress.
  4. Upon marrying Prince William she became: “Her Royal Highness Princess William, Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn, Baroness Carrickfergus”.
  5. The Duchess is a keen fan of playing and watching sport, and represented the UK as an ambassador for Team GB during the London 2012 Olympics.
  6. Kate is a keen photographer and after the her tour of South-East Asia in 2012, she released a selection of her own photos to the public.
  7. In March, 2012, she gave her first public speech during a visit to the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice facility in Ipswich.
  8. Kate is six months older than Prince William.
  9. After returning from their honeymoon, she undertook her first official engagement as the Duchess of Cambridge. In May 2011 she met U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle at Buckingham Palace during their visit to the UK.
  10. Kate has completed her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
