Farewell to the royal doctor: Duchess of Cambridge attends Sir Marcus Setchell's leaving party

<![CDATA[The Duchess of Cambridge left Prince William at home on Monday evening to look after Prince George as she attended the leaving party of Sir Marcus Setchell.
Kate, 32, was a guest at the farewell party for the Queen's gynaecologist at the Hyde Park Hilton, after he delivered her and William's first child Prince George last year.
Sir Marcus delivered George at the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London. The couple's first child was third royal baby he has delivered after the Countess of Wessex's two children Lady Louise Windosr and James, Viscount Severn.

Since joining the Royal Household in 1990, he has served The Queen as Surgeon-Gynaecologist, and along with delivering babies he helped care for the Countess of Wessex after her ectopic pregnancy in 2001, and he helped with the Duchess of Cornwall’s hysterectomy.
Continuing his caring role, his retirement part was also a fundraiser for the Wellbeing of Women, which works towards improving the health of women and babies across the United Kingdom.
In the 2014 New Year Honours, he was appointed Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order by The Queen. This award is a personal gift from the monarch and unlike the other honours, they are made independently of 10 Downing Street.
